Transparent Pricing for Marine Electrical Documentation
Fixed-price packages for leisure boats and commercial fishing vessels. Pricing has two parts: Power Circuits (DC & AC), scaled to vessel size, and Navigation, Communications & Control, scaled to system complexity rather than length. All prices below are in AUD, inclusive of GST.
Power Circuits (DC & AC)
Priced by vessel size — covers battery banks, charging sources, distribution panels, shore power and AC circuits.
† Labelling prices include all marine-grade, UV and saltwater-resistant labels and application materials — there is no separate charge for the labels themselves.
A note on complexity
The prices above assume a typical circuit count for each size range. Vessels with significantly more circuits than typical for their size — extensive AC, multiple battery banks, redundant systems, or heavy modification — may attract a complexity surcharge, confirmed with you after the initial consultation and always before any work begins. Commercial fishing vessels are quoted individually rather than from this table, given their added electrical complexity (refrigeration, deck machinery, multi-engine or genset systems, NSCV-related documentation).
Navigation, Communications & Control
Priced by system complexity rather than boat length — a small boat with a full electronics suite can cost more to document than a larger, simply-fitted one. Covers VHF, AIS, radar, chartplotters/GPS, NMEA networks, autopilot and engine electronic control wiring.
Single VHF, one chartplotter/GPS, basic autopilot
Adds radar, AIS, NMEA 2000 backbone, multi-instrument displays
Integrated bridge, redundant nav systems, multiple networks, engine electronic control integration
Booking Power Circuits and NAV/COMMS/CONTROL together?
Both are covered in the same on-site survey, so we pass that saving on: take 10% off the NAV/COMMS/CONTROL add-on whenever it's booked alongside any Power Circuits service. For example, the Standard tier Drafting add-on drops from $750 to $675 when booked with Power Circuits Drafting.
Bundle & Save
Combining services means we can cover multiple deliverables in a single on-site survey — savings reflect that shared visit, not just a discount. Prices below are for Power Circuits only; add NAV/COMMS/CONTROL using the add-on pricing above (with the 10% combined-survey discount applied).
Drafting + Labelling
One shared survey. Labels & materials included. Save approx. 15%.
Full Vessel Documentation
Drafting + Labelling + Compliance Review, one shared survey. Save approx. 20%.
Refit Ready
Upgrade Planning + Drafting. Second visit scheduled post-install. Save approx. 16%.
Pricing Questions & Answers
Yes. All prices shown on this page and across our site are in Australian dollars and inclusive of GST, unless stated otherwise on your quote.
Power circuits (DC & AC) tend to scale reasonably well with boat length — more length usually means more panels, batteries and loads. Navigation, communications and control systems don't follow the same pattern: a small boat can carry a full electronics suite while a larger one has almost none. Pricing electronics by complexity rather than length means you only pay for what's actually fitted.
Most owners aren't sure offhand, and that's fine — tell us what's fitted (or roughly what you remember) when you request a quote, and we'll confirm the tier before any work begins. If your setup falls between tiers, we'll quote the closer match and flag it clearly.
Yes — the price you see is the total price. It includes:
- All marine-grade, UV and saltwater-resistant labels for your vessel
- Application materials and consumables
- The on-site survey and application labour
- Photographic record and label schedule
There's no separate line item for materials — what's quoted is what you pay, subject to the standard factors (complexity, accessibility, location) noted above.
Larger vessels tend to have multiple electrical zones, redundant systems and bespoke configurations that vary too much to price from a single table. We'll assess your vessel during consultation and provide a fixed-price quote before any work begins.
Drafting + Labelling and Full Vessel Documentation are surveyed together and typically delivered on the same timeline. Refit Ready is the exception — Upgrade Planning happens first, then Drafting is scheduled as a second visit once your upgrade is installed, so the as-built electrical schematic matches the finished system.
Commercial fishing vessels are usually more electrically complex than a leisure boat of the same length — refrigeration, deck machinery, multi-engine or genset systems, and NSCV-related documentation all add scope. Rather than apply a leisure-boat table that would understate the work involved, we quote commercial jobs individually after an initial consultation.
Free tools and rule-of-thumb wiring diagrams exist, and a builder's manual often comes with the boat — so it's a fair question. What the price actually buys is a wire gauge and voltage-drop calculated for this boat's actual runs and loads rather than a generic rule of thumb, an as-built electrical schematic a surveyor or insurer will actually accept, and an editable file that stays correct as the boat changes — not a static, generic layout that's out of date the moment something's added or moved.
